I seen this restaurant advertised on instagram and decided to drive from Middlesex County to have lunch. The staff was very friendly. I ordered the fried chicken and rice and peas with steam cabbage, and my husband ordered the oxtail with rice and peas, and a stew chicken and rice and peas for my daughter. The stew chicken was the best out of all three. The fried chicken lacked seasoning but the sauce they provided helps with that, and the oxtail had too much browning sauce that it looked burned and the gravy was watery. It’s also disappointing that they require you to pay extra for plantain, it is not included as a side in the meal and they don’t allow you to decide on cabbage or plantain which is pretty ridiculous. Like what if I don’t want a whole order of plantain ?? I would definitely return to try another dish and give them another try.
So far the best Jamaican food I have ever tried especially the curry goat which is my favorite. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Their prices are extremely reasonable so what more could I ask from this wonderful establishment with an atmosphere that induces your cravings for more.
I saw an ad for this restaurant on IG and decided to drop everything and go that same day. I was met with amazing service I think from the owner. The wait time was a bit slow but the food was worth the wait. It took me very close to home.. I’ll be a frequent customer from now on! I got the oxtail and barbi fried chicken along with stew peas. I can’t wait to try the entire menu next.
We stopped by Sashey's Kitchen while visiting family in the area. We ordered the oxtail platter along with the jerk chicken platter. The portions were good. The food was very flavorful. The gravy for the oxtails was delicious! The gentlemen behind the counter were gracious and helpful. We'll definitely stop by again when we're in town.
Delicious jerk chicken that's cooked to perfection, almost falling off bone. The ingredients all taste fresh in the rasta pasta. Everything is spiced perfectly.
