Contribuisci feedbackHere three times in the evening. excellent 22 euro menu. three courses with decent choice and good portions. they may avoid the entrecôte as a bump and hard, but otherwise excellent food. friendly and helpful staff.
I and my wife stopped here after a day of sightseeing. we were hungry and thirsty, although I usually follow the local crowd in the selection of the restaurant, we sat at an almost empty place, although the neighbor was full. and we met a jackpot. the service was. very nice for france. we ordered goat cheese salad and bark meat tatar and both dishes were absolutely delicious. so was wein who was not always the case here in provance (Gate figure). total 41 euro. absolutely recommended.
Place Montfort is the main square in Vaison la Romaine and the Festival Cafe is one of a series of restaurants lining one side of the square. We chose it for lunch after having scanned all the menus displayed outside the various premises. It proved a...good choice and we enjoyed an imaginative meal from the menu du jour formule for the modest price of 20 euros excellent value. The choice of wines was adequate and also good value, so that the whole experience, together with the friendly and efficient service, made us resolve to eat there again on our next visit. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor accommodation and although the tables are fairly close together, this just adds to the typical cafe atmosphere of the place. Give it a try!
Not much open for dinner on Monday and we just took a chance. Delightful and helpful young waitress. Two of us had the table setting, one a la carte. The fish soup delicious as were the deserts. Mains good although the fish course unexpectedly had...bones. Not many people around at this time of year and service better than others have reported. Overall, a very positive experience.
On a Monday in late September, we walked for an hour in the pedestrian/retail section pretty much alone at 7 pm. Nothing was open and it was getting dark. Hungry and tired we stopped a British couple who recommended the Festival. Happily we got in...as it was crowded with patrons. My husband ordered a burger and milk shake and it was his favorite meal of the two week trip! I had the lamb chops which were fine. The prices were reasonable, the service was good, the menu gave lots of choices (in English). The restaurant sits on the square and during the day would have a nice view of the world going by. I would definitely go back .
