I had brunch there with my children and thought it was another place to go with my man for Valentine's Day. we do not like to go to chic restaurants and spend a tonne on a meal, but we enjoy great eating. they didn't disappoint. it was a four course set menu for everything was well presented, great tasting and original. the decent wee is only per glass. we were there early enough that there was a little left of the amount of coffee house, which made it a little loud, but it goes quieter afterwards. a nice place to drink a coffee on the morning and drink drinks on the afternoon and small dishes. will be totally back.
We visited a special occasion but did not know that there was a set menu and there was no alternative. as our first time visited, I have it based on reviews that have been read before. it is a small place with some people on the floor. the place was not half full and we ended at the top of the evening meal time. not sure if this is the case in the rule, but at least the noise level was okay. the place has an old taste, but spread after the hipster feeling. it is a coffee shop from day to day and bistro from night. the cursor meal consisted of two herbal dishes, one main and one dessert. while eating was in order, it did not jump on us from any particular reason. it was normal. in consideration of the price per person we could not justify the meal. it came by after the tips and we didn't order drinks. Maybe it's another story on regular days. the ambiente is okay. at least the service was decent.
We had the dine out Vancouver course menu... everything was perfect.
Spade's Dine Out Vancouver menu, although limited in it's variety, was very generous. Salad (endive, blackberry and grilled Halloumi), appetizer (grilled cauliflower), main course (paparadella and meatballs or eggplant in a light cream sauce)and dessert (chocolate cake) with a glass of Prosecco, all for per person. My friend had the vegetarian main and I had the meat option which we both devoured. Spade is a coffee shop by day and restaurant by night. The room still had the feel of a coffee shop more effort is needed to transition between the two services and find a way to creatively create a cozy restaurant ambiance. The service was attentive and friendly. I would definitely go again during Dine Out as this is one of the best values I have come across for this event, both this year and in years past.
