This restaurant was incredible. 8 of us went from our hostel, 3 vegans who’ve been struggling trying to find food since we’ve been in Laos. This place was incredible. The food was delicious. The owner was so friendly and really fun to talk to. Him and his wife are vegan and they’re the only place in Vang Vieng that are 100% vegan. The owner told us that since covid, business has been really slow and almost non existent. The restaurant is 10 minutes out of town so a lot of people don’t bother coming out. It’s really worth it and it makes the owners day. Please come here if you’re in town. The food and service was top tier!
The fruit shakes and the soups are delicious! The family who runs the business knows a lot about veganism and are happy to talk about it with everyone lovely place! Definitely come by if you’re ever in Vang Vieng
Just when you think you’re safe from the omnipresent fish sauce! The restaurant looked half closed when we arrived no other customers, an empty drinks fridge, no music and nobody around. But after we called out a lady appeared from the back. We ordered larp, papaya salad and pineapple shakes (asked for no milk just in case). The food took a while but we could see the lady preparing everything behind the counter and picking fresh herbs chillies from the garden, and we didn’t mind the wait. The larp was really tasty and redeemed this place somewhat tofu with sprouts, green onion, some noodley looking things and loads of fresh herbs. But unfortunately the papaya salad there it was that strong funky flavour of fish sauce. Disappointing when we thought this was a vegan restaurant. I still gave 3 stars because, well it’s Laos and unfortunately these things happen. And the larp was really good, just a shame about the fishy papaya salad. I would probably give this place another chance, just order with the same precaution I do at regular restaurants check for no fish sauce, etc.
The food was okay. The Pad Thai we had were just noodles without any tofu, carrots or veggies. The noodle soup was okay but also not much ingredients. We had to search for someone because there was no one around when we arrived. The guy we've found shouted very mean at a lady serving us. The lady serving us didn't looked happy. Seems some kind of sad. I hope they can improve there food and service. Would really like to love this place but it was not a nice experience.
