The coffees tasted like they were made with mostly water, coffee, and a hint of milk. When we asked for more milk, we were given milk powder, which made no difference to the taste. The coffee was terrible and we couldn't even drink it. We left without finishing our drinks. The quality of the coffee was disappointing, especially considering the price. I make better coffee at home. Customers expect better when paying for a service, and the coffee at Nick's Cafe18 did not meet that standard. Using milk powder in place of real milk was unacceptable for the price we paid.
According to their website, the restaurant is supposed to be open at 11:00 on Wednesdays. However, when six of us drove down from Topeka, we found that they were closed. I have heard from others that they have had the same experience. If they are consistently opening and closing without updating their website, it seems like they must be very successful and not in need of additional business.
I am a frequent visitor of Nik Cafe Burgers and I must say, their burgers are incredibly delicious and prepared with utmost hygiene. I have tried most burger places in Goa but Niks cafe serves top-notch burgers that I truly adore. The atmosphere at Niks cafe is delightful, the service is quick, and the staff is very friendly. I would personally rate the taste, presentation, and value for money very highly. The only downside is that it is quite far from my location, 42 kms away. I hope Nik opens a second cafe in the North soon. I highly recommend visiting this place and ignoring any negative reviews. The team at Nik has made all Goans proud. Good luck to Kunal Karapurkar and team at Nik Cafe. You can reach them at 9096586622.
HI , this is a summary of our experience with this cafe. We were looking for a new place to try and saw reviews on google. Called the number to check if they were open for lunch and the person on the phone confirmed that they were open till 3 Pm. We drove for a good 45 min to reach the place by 1pm , only to find it firmly shut. Calls to the number went unanswered. Ah well, this is Goa, we shall eat elsewhere. 2 days later, the urge to try this place came again. Another call, with the same confirmation. We reached at 1230 and YES! it was open. With plans to spend the afternoon playing the various board games ps4 pool along with some great food, we entered the empty cafe. We wanted to play a round of pool before ordering lunch. The lady said curtly 'you dont look as if you know to play so be sure! and make sure you dont damage anything '. The tone and manner in which she said it felt very unwelcoming. We left as the comment was rude and uncalled for. this was by far the worst attitude we have got in over a decade of visiting Goa. The owner may be having a bad day, but don 't take it out on the patrons.
I 'm not much of a burger lover or a foodie but this is one place that just tempts to me to indulge. Once you taste their tempting home baked buns, you 'll find it really hard to appreciate the 'normal ' buns that are served elsewhere. Nick 's cafe is a class apart where the host Nick and his lovely hostess Cathlin make sure to leave every taste bud begging for more. Nick once crafted an out-of-menu burger for me, and oh boy! I 'm glad he did that. He managed to create something amazing which literally left my tummy full for the next 6 hours. All said and done, this a must visit when you 're in South Goa! Three cheers to the lovely owners! Much love Truven
