Five Guys - Vaughan

I have seen these places opening up and heard about them in the media but had never had a chance to try one. Well we finally tried one and right up front, will state We will NEVER go back again in this lifetime! A horrible experience. Three of us were really hungry, hamburgers sounded good to all, so we pulled in. We were met by a shock wave of arctic cold that would numb your bones. Temperature was moderate outside but in the restaurant, if you dare call it that, it was too cold to hang meat. Maybe we just got a trainee but the guy taking our order was not very experienced and screwed up our order and he could not explain how the system works. I wanted to pick my toppings when they had the burger ready. He wanted me to pick from a mile long list of items that were on a postage sized menu card that should have been issued with a magnifying glass. The meal was way over priced. The tiny hamburger option was almost expensive as the full sized. We ordered two tiny ones and one regular size, with fries. They said they would bring it to our table, where we were huddled together, wishing we had winter coats, like some of the other patrons, shivering in the corner. When our meal came, it was in a large paper bag, not on a tray! And, the fries were just dumped lose into the bag on top of the burgers! While eating, we noticed our less than helpful clerk was now sweeping the floor and we noticed, it was horribly filthy. My burger was reasonably good. I went for tomatoes only on my cheeseburgers, declining the option of adding a thousand and one other options that could have been dumped into the bag. We could not wait to get out of there. NEVER AGAIN! Avoid this place in Vaughan like the plague.

Good burger joint. Never frozen patties. Good fries, less salt would make them great though. Good milkshakes too

Enjoy watching your burger being cooked while eating peanuts in the shell provided free of charge. Prices are very good with many choices of free toppings. Great french fries which are all large portions. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Stopped for a quick lunch and as I normally would not go to a burger place I was pleasantly surprised at the burger and fries. The burger was excellent with (skin on) fries that were very tasty and soft drink you did yourself.

The burger and fries were good quality and worth the extra money.Don't come here expecting McDonalds prices. If you want that then eat there.The restaurant was clean, the staff friendly and efficient.I would like to see Poutine served with cheese curds and gravy on the menu
