Absolutely wonderful! We stop here for dinner everytime we come to AC! Wonderful and lively couple running the place treat you to a homey and kind eating experience. The food is made right there in front of your face and everything is deliciously fresh. Been here 6 times already and incorporated bubbys into our AC trip itinerary for any future trips! Even after losing all your hard earned cash at the tables some scrumptious homemade food will cheer you up!
Great food(love the fries! really nice friendly owners.Price very reasonable with generous portions!
There are plenty of options for those looking to avoid meat. Since kosher milk is used, there's no meat on the premises. Fish is available, however. For vegan suggestions, you might try the hummus and pita platter, garden salad, soy-based burgers, falafel platter, and spicy fries.
There were large, dust-covered fans running to help cool the room, but they didn't do much for the air conditioning. The bathroom, located at the back, was in rough shape. You have to wait in line to order at the counter, after which you find a seat. They have a sign stating that food takes longer because it's freshly prepared, which I can understand. However, on the day of our visit, only one woman was working behind the counter. There was also a man taking orders at the register, but he offered no assistance to her when he wasn’t occupied. While I understand he wasn't a chef, it would have been helpful if he had fetched items for her, as she was constantly running back and forth. She was coughing while trying to get food out and, although she was doing her best to work quickly, she wasn’t very efficient. It seemed they weren’t coordinating well in the kitchen; they didn’t check for similar items that could be prepared simultaneously. Our wait for pancakes (not vegan) and falafel with hummus (vegan) exceeded 45 minutes. We could have walked across the street, picked up falafel, and finished eating by the time we were served here. The food itself was mediocre at best—very simple. While it did seem fresh and the portions were decent, I rated it a 2 instead of a 1. I think the only significant draw for this restaurant is its kosher certification. If that’s important to you, it might be worth tolerating the unpleasant atmosphere, slow service, and average food. Otherwise, if kosher isn’t a concern for you, I'd recommend going somewhere else.
