I was spoiled growing up with really great family restaurants and my opinion may not hold true for others but the food here is lackluster. I’ve never had a dry tamale until today. The tamales are tiny and have almost no meat to it. The kids loved the nachos with meat. They charge extra for the peppers. The horchata doesn’t have the right flavor-it’s the premix very watered down and still over $2 a cup. Overall I feel like everything is overpriced for what you get. I honestly wasn’t going to write a review and I’d just choose to go to other local places next time but what really got me is their lack of response when my daughter knocked her cup over on me and all over the floor. Don’t get me wrong, I take full responsibility for that happening and I don’t expect people to clean up after my family or offer a refill for a spilt drink. I always do my best to keep restaurants clean-I was a waitress and hated people that trashed the place so I do what I can to take care of the workers and help keep it clean to ease their day. We were the only people in there and they were literally staring at me using the napkins to wipe up the table, the floor, the chairs, my jeans were dripping with the juice and they didn’t bring a rag or mop. I spent 10 minutes using cheap napkins to clean up the area so I could then sit down and finish eating the overpriced flavorless food. I won’t be back. And I won’t ever tip ahead of my meal again unless I know the food and service is good.
Vernon Hills king burrito was tasty but the chicken was a little dry in the chicken burrito. The chorizo tacos were also a little dry. Portion size is very generous though.
Traveling from Houston, TX we were craving some breakfast tacos and stumbled upon this hidden Gem! Great authentic Mexican food. We had the chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, and kiddos were able to split and share the King Breakfast burrito! Super delicious and tasty. Green salsa is the way to go! They have the menu with huge print on the entry wall, make a selection, and its counter service. Prices were great for the portions and they have Jarritos, if you don't know, well then you gotta have the grapefruit and tamarindo ones with breakfast. Trust you'll enjoy!
Definitely worth a stop. The burrito was absolutely delicious. It was incredibly crowded, but I was there at noon time. There is a reason it was crowded, too. Obviously it's because the food is good and reasonably priced. It's a fast food type restaurant with some tables, but the food is made when its ordered and doesn't sit on some hot plate.
Eaten from here several times. Food has never been disappointing and is some of the best I have had. Their burritos and tortas are awesome. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu I think.
