When it comes to BBQ, they specialize in just one item: pork shoulder, and they prepare it better than anywhere I've had before. I live in middle Tennessee and have never tasted pork shoulder this amazing. They even offer a choice between chopped or sliced, which is a rare find. The meat is tender and moist without being overly mushy, making for the perfect pulled pork sandwich. The sauce is delightful too. For around $10, you can enjoy a large sandwich, fries, and a drink. Overall, it’s an almost perfect dining experience!

My mother and I visited for lunch on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, and the place was quite busy. Luckily, we found a booth within minutes and were attended to right away. What I appreciate about BBQ joints like this one is that they haven’t succumbed to the foodie trends; they stay true to their roots. The atmosphere is simple and evokes the charm of many restaurants from the past, especially BBQ spots. It feels authentic, straightforward, and I really like that. My mother ordered the larger hamburger with fries, which she said was excellent. I opted for the pulled pork sandwich with fries. While her burger was quite sizable and delicious, my BBQ was satisfying and definitely hit the spot. The sandwich was filling, though not enormous. It wasn’t the best BBQ I’ve ever had, but it was good, making for a nice, quick, and inexpensive lunch that brought back memories. I would definitely return the next time I’m in the area.

Yum!!. Had the jumbo shredded BBQ sandwich less than $6). Good fries and Danny liked his grilled cheese sandwich $2). Always good service and good food. Old-style hole-in-the-wall bbq place.

Excellent Food/Prices And Great Service. BBQ pork sandwiches(chopped or sliced), cheeseburgers, hamburger steak with onions and gravy,french fries and fried pies are always excellent ! Service is great too !

Always good rate it 100%. Golden Rule on Highway 31 in Hoover is always good. It is not fancy and probably more resembles a dive but their food is always delicious. We have ate here for years. We eat here on average 2 times per month. We have never had bad food. The prices are reasonable, carry out pick up is easy. When my son comes home to visit from another state he always wants to eat here. However, it is hard for him to decide what to eat since the bar b que pork sandwich and the cheeseburger are equally as good. They also have excellent vinegar based slaw and sweet tea. Try it, you will love it!!!!!!
