Den Gyldne Okse - Viborg

Again a good taste experience for 3 generations, when there was a birthday in the family. Here you get the food prepared as you want and the wine is as always temperate as it needs. The service was as always in the top. So only a strong recommendation from here.

Good location about 100 m from large parking area. Nice and friendly reception and instructions on the reserved table. Nice selection on the menu map and good prices for both food and wine. Great served and prepared food. Highly recommended.

Stayed overnight in Viborg during vacation and had a great beef dinner here. Meat was really tasty, perfectly cooked and accessories (salad and fries) were also spot on. Not the cheapest place and charging extra for tap water when we had both wine and beer is not OK and the place only deserves 3 stars because of this. Would have given them 4 stars out of 5 if this did not happen.

If you’re in Viborg and looking for an excellent steak (without being ripped off), make sure you book a table at Den Gyldne Okse. Marvelously tender steak, waiters knowing all about the food and good at recommending wine too as well as a very cozy restaurant/ room with candles and atmosphere. Easy to locate in the center of the city. One of the best steaks we’ve had in Denmark. Ever!

Went here and ordered the “Gourmet beef tenderloin. Fully roasted center piece of beef tenderloin” from the menu at a price of 348 DKK per person. What we got was 2 pieces of beef tenderloin appr. 6 7 cm. in diameter and including the chain muscle DEFINATELY not worth the price. I asked the staff to tell the chef about my dissatisfaction but I hardly believe that they have done so. Would we go back NEVER.
