Fred (the Mayor of Villes sur Auzon) acts as waiter, aided occasionally by his eldest son. Christen, his wife, is chef. Menu is set with fixed price, but we'll worth booking. Depending on the weather you'll eat inside or out.
Ate here last night with friends who live in Villes sur Auzon and frequent this amazing restaurant regularly. Sitting under the trees outside the farmhouse in the middle of the countryside is a perfect place to enjoy the home cooked food. I love the idea of having no choice, you eat what they cook and at 28€ pp inc wine it's excellent value and Monsieur Freddie the patron town mayor is a perfect host ably assisted by his family.
Easy to find, if you set your mind to it and perhaps you should, if you love Provence. Just start driving from Villes sur Auzon towards Flassan, and keep your eyes out for the sign on the roadside, and turn right. When you arrive, don 't expect a lavish menu selection the dishes for the day will be written on the blackboard beside the entry. Don 't expect Michelin stars you will be eating a true, Provencal meal, just as your (Provencal) grandmother might have prepared. Almost everything you eat will have come from the farm, and will be fresh and delicious. Expect delicious, plain cooking, real farm hospitality and pleasant, domestic surroundings. This is la Provence profonde . The dining room is small, so make sure you book. No cards.
