I will always give places that have several chances, but were disappointed with my eating the last few times here eating. wakefield really lacks good vegan Mexican food!
Found this place while you are through Wakefield as it is an extensive vegan menu and is an independent business. Eating here reminded me why chain restaurants dominate the vegan market recently: I ordered the spicy Tofu Burrito with vegan dirty pommes. the burrito was grilled and cut like a falafel wrap, something you are expected to eat with a knife and fork, immediately after I undercut the cheese in the burrito, I was nervous. In view of the Burrito was advertised as “spicy tofu” with avocado, house salsa, lime coriander rice, vegan cheese and fried beans, it was not sharp, no avocado, probably the largest vegan cheese at all and was without lime, coriander, let alone sodium. It was soulless, tasteless and honest, I felt sick since eating this meal. I will probably fight to find the courage to consume a meal again after I have eaten this. The tofu was not shredded (as expected with a burrito), but like dice, directly from a tofu package. It was still soggy, possibly uncooked before in the fate that George Foreman Grill was. the dirty frits were also disappointing, the frits themselves were quite good in the middle of the cheese slate and very conservative size portioning of the (teaspoon sized) Guac. I don't write this review too common, just as fair criticism, I have no doubt that this business can be great food for meat eaters, but please look into new vegan alternatives. It was really one of the worst things I've ever eaten in my life.
I can't believe this place has not been reviewed yet! I stumbled by chance about No Manches when I was looking for vegan options on just eating (it's one of two options that come to my local area, and I'm so happy I did! I only ordered this once, so I can only comment on the Street Corn (Off the Cob, Roasted Veg and Quinoa burrito and Churros). All three were perfect, surprisingly hot when they showed up and so delicious! And the restaurant itself looks really beautiful and colorful, so I would like to visit when unlocking is cancelled :
Our favourite Mexican takeaway, also amazing quality food. The only negative is sometimes the tortilla soup (which we love) is a little too spicy but that’s obviously personal preference I’m in a wuss Live in delivery distance, which is dangerous
Found this place whilst passing through Wakefield as it has an extensive vegan menu and is an independent business. Eating here reminded me why chain restaurants are dominating the vegan market lately: I ordered the spicy tofu burrito with vegan dirty fries. the burrito was served grilled and sliced like a falafel wrap, something you’d be expected to eat with a knife and fork, instantly after seeing the cheese beige undertone within the burrito, I was nervous. The fries arrived and I quivered at the cheese gloop that was before me. considering the burrito was advertised as ‘spicy tofu’ with avocado, house salsa, lime coriander rice, vegan cheese and refried beans it was not spicy, no avocado, probably the grossest vegan cheese ever and was devoid of any lime, coriander, let alone sodium. It was soulless, tasteless and honestly I’ve felt sick since eating this meal. I’m probably going to struggle finding the courage to consume a meal again after eating this. The tofu was served not shredded (as expected with a burrito) but like cubes, straight out of a tofu packet. It was still soggy, potentially uncooked before entering the fate that was the George Foreman grill. the dirty fries were also disappointing, the fries themselves were pretty good amidst the cheese slop and very conservative sized portioning of the (teaspoon sized) guac. I am not writing this review to be mean, only as fair criticism, I have no doubt this business can serve great food for meat eaters but please look into new vegan alternatives. It really, really was one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten in my life.
