The Broken Bridge, Wetherspoons, Pontefract

Came out for a enjoyable meal... well half of menu was unavailable, no signs to say why the only thing I enjoyed was the drinks both me and my partner had a burger and the chicken was dry it was supposed to come with chips and it arrived with a jacket potato and 1 butter so I asked a staff member if I could have a few more and never arrive to top it all the jacket potato was cold and didn't get and explanation as to not getting the butter absolutely shocking ...

The restaurant never turns on the heating when it's cold. The manager told us to put on our coats if we were cold, which is not good management. Every other Wetherspoons we've been to has the heating on all night.

The evening staff have no customer respect and can be rude and un caring, they need training in customer service if the bar manager owned the pub she’d would have no customers left

Very poor American Breakfast. Bacon half the size it used to be, yet you still get 4 pancakes. Hash browns were dried out too. Manager fetched when I complained to staff member. Manager apologised for hash browns, but nothing to be done about shrunken bacon. Refund offered and accepted. Shrinking food portions affecting spoons too, it's not just supermarkets ripping us off.

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place to others. It is also conveniently located in a central area. The name of the restaurant, Pontefract, translates to "Ponte Bridge Fract" in English, although there doesn't seem to be a broken bridge nearby.
