I appreciate that Covid rules are currently in place but there are no signs anywhere telling customers what to do, so instead, staff just shout and appear to take delight in humiliating and belittling customers. The young man on the till today was especially vile, with a customer behind me commenting that he was ‘horrendous’, bellowing at people and generally acting like a little dictator. This isn’t just a staff canteen, it’s a mid-priced cafe and we are paying customers. I wouldn’t tolerate this abysmal service in any other establishment, so why are we expected to tolerate it just because it’s in the hospital where we work.
Called in today for lunch while visiting hospital. Had Moussaka, good quality and large portions. Have previously breakfasted here and as said in a previous review you can build your own breakfast by choosing the items you like best. Again good quality, and quantity can be what you want it to be, and very good value. Would put weight on if I dined here too often.
My wife and I were visiting some one in hospital on Sunday 10/09/17 and went down for some thing to eat at 14.00 hrs, there was some slices of grey beef, some gammon that did not look very nice and chicken pie. We had had the chicken pie mine with chips the wife with roast potatoes and gravy. When we sat down every thing was luke warm my chips were solid so you could not chew them, the chicken pie was packed with bits of chicken but it was overcooked and dry it was like chewing saw dust. The elderly lady who was in front of us at the counter had got the gammon and was sat down next to us, she asked me if my chips were cold as well I said yes and when she tried to cut her gammon she could not get through it so she picked it up to take a bite and it streched like a elastic band as she tried to bite some off. This utter garbage cost us £9.90, the wife said we might as well flushed the £10 down the toilet. I would advise anyone to take their own or get some thing else where.
A lovely cafe to say it is in a hospital. Spacious, airy, clean, great food at very reasonable prices. It has some outdoor courtyard seating to. Offers a good range of food and the build it yourself breakfasts are great 7 items for £4.88 and includes a drink and a slice of toast. Limited opening hours (check website) but well worth a visit if you are visiting a patient.
Clean loos and decent food, I hear they closed permanently.
