Green Bean Pantry - Walkerton

This is a cafe in a building prevoiusly used by the police delartment. If the style of hte building dos not give it away, then the two jail cells inside the entrance will be a big clue : Yes, two jail cells......puts a whole new...slant on jail cell food lol Not the most architecturally pleasing property, but is still worth stopping in to snack! The food is good! Home made! All kinds of choices on the menu from Soups and Salads, to Pastas and Sandwiches. And of course sweet selections. Also and a really good idea for those of us who dont eat huge amounts the 'Trio ' option half a sandwich and a soup/salad of your choice. Coolio! This is a MUCH better option than any Timmy 's. It 's not on the main street but is worth the few extra kilometres on the edge of town, to enjoy a nice meal without the risk of sodium overload! There is also a closed off room at the back possibly for small gatherings???? And as well as the table and chair set ups in the main area, there is an archway to a 'Starbucks like ' seating area, complete with fireplace. It opens at 5:30am closes at 3:30 pm so dont wait or you will miss it! Well worth a visit...you may even want to go back!!!

Had takeout lunch with the sister and was so pleasantly surprised when she brought food from the Green Bean. Great soup, fabulous sandwich, yummy desserts!

I had the breakfast eggs, bacon, home fries, toast comes with a slice of tomato lettuce. There are 15 varieties of tea to choose from amazing. Made to order sandwiches salads, nice selection of muffins, tea biscuits etc. Good place...to stop when you forgot your lunch grab go which your morning coffee.

My wife and I tried this place last week for the first time. Just had a breakfast deal. Eggs and toast done correctly, both were great.
