Like many places these days, the portions have shrunk, and the prices have increased. My meal tonight used to be on the $9.99 menu, but that's no longer the case. Originally, the Balsamic chicken dinner came with two pieces of chicken, but even before COVID, that was cut down to just one piece. I used to get double rice for my two sides, but now, as a diabetic, I only received a tiny side salad with no dressing and asparagus—both of which came with an extra charge. I was aware that the asparagus cost more, but I didn't expect to be charged for the side salad, which used to be included. Additionally, the online menu doesn't list prices, making it impossible to verify any potential overcharges on the bill. This meal, which was advertised at $9.99, ended up costing me $18.34—almost double what we used to pay, and for less food. We paid using a complimentary gift card from a previous bad experience just a week ago, and I regret using it on this meal. I once loved 99 House, but that has changed, and I don’t plan on returning.
I was looking forward to returning to this restaurant after a long time, but I ended up feeling quite disappointed. Unfortunately, the popcorn they served wasn’t as fresh as it usually is, and my meal did not justify its $17 price tag. The steak I ordered had a strange texture, almost resembling ground meat, which made it inedible. While the chicken had a nice crunch to some pieces, it was lacking in flavor and very bland, so I couldn't enjoy much of it. I usually don’t send food back, but I found it difficult to eat. Overall, aside from having a great waitress, my experience was not good because the food simply didn’t meet expectations. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to friends or family.
Very nice looking restaurant, a bit of slow service, but the food did make up for it. One thing did bother our table, which was that we had AC vent right on us for the whole time we were there and it made us cold and even our food after a few minutes.Other then that, a nice relaxing atomosphere
I ordered the hot lobster roll special. When I received my plate the lobster roll was just Luke warm and there was hardly any butter on it. The only melted butter was on the French fries. I asked the waitress for some warm butter to put on it. It didhelp somewhat and I only ate half of it. We go to 99 house frequently and are happy with our orders but not this time.Worstlobster roll I have ever eaten. The soup and petite dessert were good. No more lobster rolls for me there.
