We ordered the Golden God margaritas at $16 each, but we were taken aback by how small they were, served in water glasses with hardly any salt on the rim. At that price, we expected much more. It's clear that they are making a significant profit on these drinks, which feels unreasonable. As for our meals, I chose the carne burrito bowl. It was mostly lettuce, with just a small serving of dry, overcooked meat, bland black beans, a sprinkle of cheese, and a large scoop of guacamole. The chips and salsa were the highlight of the meal, but overall, everything felt overpriced. I don’t plan to return—between the exorbitant drink prices and mediocre food, it just wasn’t worth it.
Julio is an excellent server. Everything was perfectly timed. The Cadillac margaritas were fantastic, and I loved the guacamole and chips!
Our server was extremely nice but not very attentive. Anytime we needed something (more water, food request, check) we had to have another staff member track him down. We weren’t in a hurry so we were a patient group, and would have understood the delays if the restaurant was busy but it was a pretty slow night. 3/4 of us did LOVE our food.
Excellent food. What a great addition to Walnut Creek’s large collection of quality restaurants. The service was right on, and the ambience is nice. This will be a restaurant on our list of routinely visited places to go for dinner in downtown Walnut Creek.
