I absolutely adore this restaurant! The atmosphere is wonderful, there's live music, the servers are fantastic, and the food is incredible. I always order the grand opa sangria and dessert is a must— I go for the bougatsa. The flaming cheese and lamb chops are simply irresistible!
Let’s start with the cocktails, which I usually don’t associate with Greek restaurants. Opa! offered a fascinating and diverse selection of cocktails and wines. I tried an Argonaut, a rum falernum variation of a Mule or Dark Stormy. I’ve been using Falernum for sours at home (it's an allspice-flavored liqueur), but I never thought to mix it with rum for a Dark Stormy. I certainly will from now on. The only downside was the lack of a copper mug, but I can overlook that. One sip was enough to convince my wife to abandon her white wine and order the same drink for her second round. I switched to red wine for my meal, and they had a fantastic Zinfandel by the glass (Seghesio), which is rare for many restaurants. A definite win! For our appetizer, we ordered saganaki—after all, the place is called Opa! We enjoyed every bit of the cheese and lemon, soaking it up with some wonderfully warm and fluffy pita slices. Following that, we had the green Greek salad. They kindly split it for us and added olives and beets to mine, which was excellent. For our main courses, we went with classic choices after all those appetizers. I had a Gyro and my wife had Falafel, both served on the same fluffy pita bread, accompanied by a generous portion of "Opa fries." These fries were topped with Greek vinaigrette and crumbled feta cheese, making them quite delicious! The pitas were packed with a good amount of protein, onions, tomatoes, and tzatziki sauce. There were absolutely no leftovers tonight! Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive. The service was prompt without making us feel rushed, even though the restaurant was busy for an early Friday night. We just missed the happy hour, which seemed to have some enticing deals. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Opa! The menu had a wide range of both traditional and unique options that all sounded appealing, so I’m sure we’ll return to try more next time. Opa!
Out of town visitor, my friends recommended this place, they really like lemon chicken dish, I am not lemon chicken person so I order gyro pita, it was ok, I have better gyro, my other friend like his meatloaf dish. Service was good for Friday night. It would be 3 stars for gyro pita. Sauce was good but without it, meat was ok. Fries would like more crispy, but it was my false for not asking to have them crispy.
Good service. Good food but not the best Greek food around.
