Either way, this is a great destination restaurant in the burb metropolis of Walnut Creek. The wine list is insane – something like 1600 different selections of every kind and source of wine. Unless you are extremely knowledgeable about wine, just ask your server for recommendations. The food is excellent – quality ingredients, good preparation and presentation – and just plain yummy. The ahi tuna appetizer is wonderful. They do an surprisingly good job with meats (the beef I’ve had there has been great). I’d also recommend the gnoochi. Of course, if you have a full dinner for 2 (appetizer or salad, pasta, main course, split a dessert) and wine, you will be out $200 or more. But you get what you pay for.
We were a party of four, and we all were very pleased with everything at Prima. We were happily given a quieter table, had excellent service and our dinners were beautifully presented along with being delicious. We had not been to Prima for a number of years, but will be returning soon. We couldn’t have been more pleased!
Expensive with average food. We had very good service.
Consistent quality over decades of dining here. Thanks, Jodi for cheerfully accommodating my reservation changes.
The food was very good. Portion size was adequate. We split a beet salad and each had an ample portion. We each had a pasta dish. Again, adequate portion size and wonderfully prepared. We split an olive oil cake. Excellent. Service was attentive and professional.
