The arrival was okay there is no clear parking area, very dim lights and incorrectly signed areas to the entrance and the grounds need some tidy up and presentation. There is an old steam train but it's hidden behind some bins.. The tube train itself looks great. There are some small steps up to the train so not sure if wheelchair accessible. Great: service, friendly staff, accommodating, background music, temperature inside the train was warm, the food was excellent, pacing of service, ambience, birthday requests, food presentation, intro from the chef before eating, all dishes are served to everyone at the same time, choices of drinks, seating on the soft seat private tables, the moquette chairs, no table was left unattended. Not So Great: the toilets are terrible; clean but think camping spiderwebs, cold, in an out building, used as a cleaning storage area. The menus are little QR codes on the train walls; an A4 printed menu with a theme would have felt more upmarket. Some of the train is falling apart; loose screws and potential hazards from falling maps above your head! Seating on the large table looks cramped and not easily accessible, and extra seats without the moquette are hard. Floor heaters should be replaced by overhead heaters, a final dish of maybe coffee and words from the chef at the end would be a smoother close to the meal, a microphone for the chef as it was hard to hear at the back. Things to note: the menu is corn based and dishes a little spicy. There is a raw fish dish, but you can ask for an alternative at booking. I plan to go back, but hope that the Not So Greats are noted for next time.
We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. It was about a 15-minute walk from Walthamstow, or you could take an Uber. The exterior of the restaurant could use some sprucing up. The food was fantastic, and the Cuban chef explained each dish to us. The cocktails were delicious, and the service was excellent, although the drinks were a bit slow, so we decided to order two at once.
Such a lovely concept and amazing food. A blend of various South American foods by talented Chef. Service was friendly and informative. The train itself is brilliant and looked fantastic lit only by candle light. The meal and drinks were reasonably priced and it was a lovely experience. I would definitely do it again.
What an absolute treat!! Fabulous use of an old carriage! Food was outstanding, very reasonably priced as was the alcohol. Will defo return will recommend to everyone visiting London…..
Now known as supperclub@tube and offering a South American tasting menu with 6 courses this is a great place to eat. The ambience of a former Victoria line tube car may not be to everyone 's taste but with so many memories of using the line from the day it started it was a fun experience. The tasting menu was outstanding. Possibly the main, a lamb dish with chocolate, might be improved by serving with more sauce as it was a touch dry. That would be the only criticism. The staff were obviously happy to mark someone 's birthday and the whole carriage joined in singing 'Happy Birthday '. The dessert was served on a special plate suitably inscribed. Wine list is limited but there is a passable Argentinian red. Would have like some Colombian coffee to finish things off. This is off the beaten track but worth the effort to seek it out. Now planning a repeat visit.
