Gremio De Brixton - Waltham Forest

This spot is in the basement of a church, so you'll be greeted by a group of homeless people sheltering at the front. As you enter, there's an open space for drinks with music blasting through the speakers, you won't be enjoying any conversation here and y personally didn't enjoy the music either. At the back of the place there is the restaurant, music still loud here, meaning everyone around is yelling to engage in any kind of conversation, the noisy environment is enhanced by the bricked vaulted ceiling making the acoustics rather unpleasant. The food is average, probably the worst tapas bar in London I've ever been and definitely unacceptable for Spanish standards, but we are not in Spain so we'll leave it at average. Drinks arrived when we were nearly finished with the food but that seemed to be an oddity that only happened to us. On a positive note, the place is not too expensive (around £30p/p)

We had a very poor experience here. The food was average quality with very small portion sizes, not the usual serving size for tapas. Some food arrived immediately after ordering and some arrived after a considerable wait, some didn’t arrive at all. We asked the wait staff many times about the food and they sort of shrugged and said it will come when it comes. Even getting the bill took forever and we had to request it several times. When the bill finally arrived it included several items that we had not received, these were then removed at our request. Overall a very underwhelming experience and I doubt we will be back.

I haven't been for food but just for when it turns into a club after I'd been warned this place gets very hot and sweaty and this definitely was the case. Music was techno y so got a bit samey after a short space of time.

Such a shame that this previously fantastic place has gone down hill. The greeting we received was that we couldn't sit inside as they didn't have a licence for children (our youngest is 14). Not sure what this means but outside was where we had to go. The service was not good, they missed two of our ordered dishes and drinks (we asked a number of times) and the staff were rude and grumpy. Disappointing

Love this place! Been multiple times and the staff are always friendly and there’s a great atmosphere! Food is very well priced for London and is delicious! Would recommend!
