Singburi - Waltham Forest

I was recommended this hidden gem by a friend shortly after moving nearby. The entire experience was fantastic. Even though we hadn't made a reservation on a Wednesday night, the restaurant was busy but the waitress was very welcoming and managed to seat us. The food was amazing and a must-try for any lover of authentic Thai cuisine. I started with a sweet and sour soup that was perfectly balanced and delicious. For my main course, I chose a dish from the speciality curry menu and it was also excellent. I can't wait to come back again soon.

We tried a variety of dishes at Singburi's and had a mixed experience. The chicken chow mein and pork in red curry paste were delicious. The green chicken curry and mixed vegetables were okay, but the red snapper curry was disappointing. There was hardly any fish in a sea of red soup. Overall, not a bad meal but we won't be ordering the red snapper curry again.

The green curry at this restaurant was deliciously spicy and loaded with chicken, aubergines, and peppers. The portion of rice was larger than expected, enough for sharing between us. Next time, we will opt for an additional vegetable dish. The squid and chive dish was particularly tasty, with a rich roast garlic flavor.

A small family restaurant with mom running the front of house and dad in the kitchen Singburi does not at first seem like a restaurant worth mounting an expedition to get to.

This is a mind blowing lilliput of Thai paradise. Family owned and run, they focus on the essentials; food, quality and service! I started off with the seafood tom yum with mussels, squids and mushrooms, turned out to be fantastic. Then moved on to the duck in red curry with...wait for it...grapes, pineapple and cherry tomatoes, never had it before but Im already thinking of my next trip there. You can bring your own drinks and 2 starter tom yums relatively small portions and 2 main curries with 2 coconut rice came to 35 quid.
