Although it wasn't our first choice, as other places were closed, we were pleasantly surprised by the perfectly acceptable breakfast baps and ham and cheese croissant. The coffee was also nice and not overpriced. The service was friendly and we would definitely consider coming back again.
We had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The person working behind the counter was constantly on their phone and made us feel like a burden for ordering. Our table was sticky and the plates were swimming in water from the eggs, making the bread soggy. To top it off, there was a random block of Brie in the middle of the plate. The veggie breakfast and breakfast bap were disappointing, especially for the high price of £6.50. The light fixtures were dusty and there was no soap in the bathroom. Overall, the restaurant felt neglected and customers were not valued.
On Sunday, July 23rd, 2023 at 3pm, my wife and I visited a restaurant where a few people were dining outside. We walked in, sat down, and studied the menu for several minutes. Unfortunately, we were completely ignored by the female staff who walked past us multiple times without acknowledging our presence. The same disregard was shown by the man behind the counter, who started serving customers who came in after us for takeaway food. After waiting for several more minutes, we decided to leave due to the appalling attitude of the staff.
Met a friend here for a meet up because we wanted to try it out. Good coffee and friendly and relaxed service. I didn't try the food and although it was a little slow, it suited us for it to be that way. I'd go again if I need a coffee meeting spot in the area.
I remember this place being very good but, judged on my latest experience, things have gone down hill somewhat. The menu is still varied, with plenty of vegetarian options, and the service is friendly, if decidedly slow. The coffee and juices were excellent, but we were all (four of us) rather disappointed with the easily countable number of fries served with the quesadillas my quesadilla was of below average quality and only lukewarm. Our side order of calamari, when it eventually came (we had to ask for it twice), consisted of a paltry three rings, accompanied by a sad looking bit of salad this for about a fiver, I recall. The extra portion of fries we ordered was again small and slow to arrive and when we drew the inadequate portion size to the attention of the waiter we were told a little dismissively that this was normal. To his credit, he brought us another portion of fries and one extra ring of squid on the house. I'm not a serial complainer and offer this review in the genuine hope that things improve to the level at which they they used to be.
