The entire team at The Althorp ensured that my evening was absolutely perfect! I particularly enjoyed ‘The Common Room’, located at the back of the pub with its own facilities. We were able to play our own music, creating the ideal atmosphere for the night. Despite the private bar not having beer taps or soda guns, it was never an issue as there were plenty of bartenders at the main bar to quickly serve us. Another great aspect was that the booking only required a minimum spend, which was a relief as I was unable to pay hire fees for a non-Christmas party. I highly recommend The Althorp for future events. The food was delicious, with our guests quickly devouring the selection of canapés. The Yorkshire pudding roasties were especially outstanding! I would definitely return just for another meal. Thank you to the entire team for making my night so special. I will always be grateful.
I had a great time at this restaurant. I ordered a sharing platter and some drinks. It was very busy, but had a nice atmosphere and a cozy and relaxed vibe. There were lots of families of all ages. It's a great place to have some drinks and nibbles on a drizzly and grey afternoon.
A walk in and the staff were more than helpful. A lovely pub, atmosphere, food, and service what's not to love. Will definitely be back.
This pub is a charming spot with friendly young staff, like James, and delicious food. Unfortunately, the manager does not seem to enjoy interacting with customers or her job. During a recent dinner with a small group for a Christmas gathering, we all felt unwelcome both individually and as a group. Even a large group of girls in the other dining area, dressed up for Christmas and having a good time, also experienced the negativity and lack of helpfulness from the hostess. After reading reviews on various platforms, it is clear that the pub's owners need to reconsider their management before they drive away all their customers.
Popped in here last Sunday for a roast and a pint of Guinness and again tonight for a couple. I must say this is one of my favourite little pub round the local area. Coming from north London it’s been great to look around and try the pubs and this one is definitely up there. The roast chicken was delicious and the Guinness on both occasions has also been great. Service good and officiant. It also has a proper pub. Shows the sports too so I can’t wait to come back and see what it’s like for the footie.
