Lots of ales were on tap and detailed drinks menu, which was descriptive and accessible for anyone unfamiliar with alcohol.
The pub setting is nice, it's clean and well decorated with a nice beer garden. I'm not sure the beer is well kept though, as I tried two different pints, both of which I drink frequently, and they both tasted very off. My food arrived after the rest of my table had finished eating, despite me ordering first. The food itself was a little bland and just seemed rushed (as I had to ask where my food was). No compensation was offered.
Very good dark moody pub with many rooms. Good garden at rear. I used to come here when bands were performing, including Joe Bonamassa.
The Antelope is a great boozer and I have enjoyed my many visits there over the course of the last 5 years I've lived in and around the area of Tooting. They have a good choice of beers on tap and the staff are always very friendly. The reason I wrote this review was because I've finally been able to try out their roast which was the perfect hangover cure on the Sunday. We tried a few of the starters which were fine, but largely forgettable. However the roast beef was excellent, not dry, very juicy and not drowning in too much gravy. I really enjoyed the variety and selection of vegetables accompanying the roast, the creamed leeks and red cabbage were great!
It looks like a big pub from the outside, and it is much larger on the inside, with another bar area and beyond that the garden. Choice of real ales on tap, but I can't remember what I had as it was the 5th pub on a Saturday afternoon crawl! Very busy when I was there, but served quickly by efficient staff. Only downside is a small gents loo, with the single WC out of action.
