MUST TRY!!! Sarap ng food. The best value for your money.
Steaks would not be a mainstream Filipino food; it is expensive and must be cooked the right way. But if you want to have a quick, affordable and suite to Filipino taste steak, then visit Benjas Steak Hauz along Buendia Street, Pasay City. A GLIMPSE OF HISTORY The interiors of Benjas Steak Hauz is full of historical facts. It narrates events such as the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution and a list of all the city mayors of Pasay City since 1811. It may not be significant if you are a native of the city, but amazed to know that Pablo Cuneta is the longest serving mayor. The yellow-themed interiors match the plastic chairs and tables. The dining area can approximately seat around 40 people while the al-fresco right beside a busy road, can seat around 15. Although worn out, the place is packed with people who wanted to taste a piece of steak. THE PRICE and FOOD The steak house definitely targets the masses and source their meats from Tagaytay City (TC), a 2-hour drive from Manila. For P99 you can sample an ala carte of junior T-Bone TC steak and add P20 for unlimited rice. They also serve bulalo which is good for 2-3 people. Get the Special Park Avenue Bulalo for only P349 or if you want the sizzling one, then try the Burgos Sizzling Bulalo at the same price. Their best seller includes the Fortuna Porterhouse Steak Premium (P149) and the Sirloin MC Steak (P199), which are both ala carte. Just add rice and soft drinks (P50) to complete your meal. If you want to drink with friends, they also offer local beers such as Red Horse and San Miguel Beer both at P60. Quite steep and they do not offer a bucket. RECOMMENDATION The taste of their offerings is far beyond the usual steak house. Their location is set to reach masses which definitely is a great strategy for them. Definitely a place to visit again due to its price. Taste wise, they are good and can pass a dinner. Do bring cash as this is the only mode of payment they accept, and deliveries are not available. Visit them daily from from 9am to 3am the next day! Jya Mata Ne! -Brie @itsbriankevin @nonfoodienetwork This review first appeared in TripAdvisor
