Aro CafÉ - Wellington

I visited Aro based on a recommendation from the host of my airbnb. The coffee was excellent and the food exceeded our expectations. My scrambled eggs were perfectly creamy and soft, while my partner was impressed by his pancake. The service was fast, but I did find it to be somewhat unfriendly.

I was truly impressed by the staff at Aro. During my first visit, I arrived just before the Saturday rush and ordered one of their bacon sandwiches. It was absolutely delicious. The following Sunday morning, I enjoyed a cheese scone that was incredibly soft and covered in melted cheese. However, the real highlight was their spaghetti and meatballs. These meatballs were juicy and flavorful, served on top of perfectly cooked pasta covered in their homemade sauce. It was even better than what I've had in Italy. To top it off, they offer a special deal on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 5:30-6:30, where you can get the spaghetti and meatballs for $13 and add a wine, prosecco, or beer for $7. The service was always friendly and accommodating, delivered with a smile. It's truly special to find such amazing food just 5 minutes from my house.

Happening hipster hangout. Tarts and beards. Great service, fantastic menu and cabinet food and coffee that tastes good. So many delectable choices for something sweet I was overwhelmed but managed to settle on a fruit and almond tart. Perfect spot to meet before a Garage Project tasting session next door : This side of town definitely has an alternative vibe and the proximity to craft brewers is nirvanic!

Not sure how these guys get a 3.3? Live round the corner and come here for coffee and the odd bit of food. Have eaten in a couple of times and can't go wrong!

Great coffee, friendly staff and brilliant food. Now open for dinners with quick service and well sized options. Have been coming as a regular for a while to enjoy the relaxed vibe the place brings. With some staples always available to be enjoyed on the breakfast menu, they will often bring new options out which will make decision time that much harder.
