We Really enjoyed our meal here .. the staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere and decor was upmarket and The food was excellent. It was possibly a little more costly than we wanted to spend on a meal but I think the price was probably fair considering the quality of the food and the ambiance.

I probably passed by dozens of times and thought it was a pub. Today we discovered a lovely restaurant with great food. The menue has only a few items but everything we tried from soup over salad, pasta to fish of the day was delicious and very well presented. The service was good but the food was very slow to come, which is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. We will definitely go back.

Casual atmosphere, excellent service and a limited menu (which I enjoy). Did not get to try the wines as my customers were drinking beer. Good value for money. I will certainly return.

We went there for a family event and we couldn t have found a more suitable, friendly place, relaxed with honest and excellent food served by very friendly, personal and attentive service. Every dish was served "à point". My Schnitzel would win every "Schnitzel-Test" and all the other meals looked so delicious that we need to come back soon to get more of this super tasty food.I especially like the styling of this small, casual chic and cosy restaurant which hits the taste of time. The hosts were absolutely professional and very friendly with attention to detail. As Aperitiv we had a wonderful drink called "Schiffer s Brause", that contained Prosecco with Lime and another ingredient, lovely decorated with some Rosemary.Werden, this little market town and part of Essen with it s "Fachwerk" traditional houses does already have some very good restaurants, mainly Italian. It definitely need a new restaurant like "Schiffer s" with very authentic, superb German cuisine.For a warm Summer evening there is space in the backyard for "al fresco dining" outside.Highly recommended!

We wanted to have something a little bit more refined without being stuffy. This restaurant fit the bill. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was nicely prepared and plated. We enjoyed the fish soup, beef tartar, salmon and octopus. Excellent dinner. We also would go back for lunch.
