The food is good, honest, home-cooked pub fare at very reasonable prices. The selection of drinks available is great and also reasonably priced. My husband especially enjoyed the Dorset Gold beer. The owner, Rob, is a character and very welcoming. We had a lovely chat with him and the lady behind the bar, who we discovered had a lot in common with us in terms of where we live. The pub is dog-friendly, but also has a separate dining room for those who prefer not to be around dogs. Additionally, there is a lovely garden area for outdoor seating. I always judge a pub or restaurant by the cleanliness of their bathrooms, and the ones at the Hare Hounds were spotless, with plenty of antibacterial soap, hand gel, and hand cream. We are already planning our next trip to Dorset, and we will definitely be returning to the Hare Hounds. Thank you for being so welcoming.
While on holiday, we visited the Hare and Hounds 3 times for either lunch or evening meal. Fantastic food everytime. Well worth going. As for the landlord Rob, what a great friendly guy. Felt like we had known him forever, made us very welcome. Will definately call again if we are in the area.So to the staff and particulary Rob, many thanks againYou will know who we are, Andy and Roz from Yorkshire and Shelby, our little white dog
We booked on the offchance...they fitted us in, and we loved the view over the rolling hills of Dorset. Inside was cosy, and the food was delicious.
The restaurant is located in a great spot and has retained its charm as a village pub throughout the years. It is a hidden gem, offering a delicious meal in a tranquil setting, away from the crowds at the coast.
Great service and excellent food at this lovely traditional pub. The views from the outside garden area are amazing. Really welcoming staff and we had a lovely meal for four with our dog also of course and were all made very welcome thank you!!
