We didnt think we would make it around the whole of Delfin island plus the length of the lake to the south, but there was ample time to do all of that in the end. We were provided with a tea or coffee and two scones with cream and jam for the cruise. The views are nice, as you get to go all around the Lake, and to those who aren't familiar with the area they will likely find some places they haven't noticed before. Even locals can enjoy the trip as it provides a different and unique perspective of the area, with the tour guide/driver providing details about the housing and history of West Lakes. Would recommend for locals, Adelaideans, and tourists alike.
This cruise sails to all areas of the West Lakes with good commentary from the captain on various points of interest. The dinner cruise that I have been on twice served a two course meal: a roast and a choice of two desserts. It is fully licensed and seats about 60.
We were only on this boat because of an invite to a travel meet for those interested in cruising. There were some teething problems with the PA but managed to get it fixed. Then there was the afternoon tea and 60+ persons trying to get onto one table of goodies; well we stood back and let them go for it. We ended up just chatting to the coxswain. I wouldn't pay for this.
I've booked the boat twice for charters in 8 years. The first time was when we used it for an informal wedding dinner (i.e. a sit down menu) in March 2008, and again recently to celebrate my 40th birthday (with a cocktail menu) in August 2016.On both occasions, my guests and I have found that Connie, Bob and their staff and service on board has been top notch. The staff were more than happy to accommodate, irrespective of who asked for assistance (even down to making sure that there was some space in the corner of the boat for our most recent cruise for a few kids to settle down in towards the end of the night). As far as the food was concerned - I recommend that if you are going on for dinner, don't eat beforehand. The meals that were served on the first cruise were very generous, delicious and no one even wanted to contemplate dong the Maccas drive thru run on the way home (as you sometimes have to when you go and eat at some venues, due to the small servings). To me - that is a successful night. The cocktail menu that we had for my 40th was also delicious - my only regret was that I probably didn't eat enough of it myself!Obviously if you are wanting to look out the window and see how the other half live, then definitely do a cruise during the warmer months while daylight savings was on, but even during the middle of winter, the water was smooth and the ride more than comfortable.if you want to charter the boat (and guarantee exclusivity) you need to book for a minimum of 40 people, but it is definitely worth it if you do.Will definitely go back and do another cruise - maybe next time a public dinner cruise with the wife as a 'date night'.
Had a nice short cruise on the lake and west lakes food very good service by staff excellent nice viws of the lake side homes, would recommend
