We were very polite and never pushed the problem, so I'm not sure why the attitude. Note: Terrace is not dog friendly and you do not want to be asked.
Service could have been better... She probably tried her best. The restaurant was not very busy. Four of us ordered drinks, appetizers and dinners. Everyone enjoyed the dishes: we had fish food and salads. Half and half, boiled Haddock and baked filled seafood. We're going back?
I had the shells and potatoes. Clam Chowder was 100% from a can for $9.50. Potato skins were made house, but bland and burned. The service was pleasant and prompt. The place is clean and spacious, but the food is bad. And at real seafood prices should be the food of better quality. No lobster bisque on the menu, although the logo is a lobster. In fact, besides one or two lobster bowls, everything else is deep fried something else. Which leads me to believe everything is frozen. It is a diner with Clam Chowder on the menu. No real fish restaurant.
I grew up in the 80s and my parents would treat us with the Weathervane in a while. I wasn't there in 40 years and went like a step from a time machine. It's EXACTLY the same! Sad, I remember eating is much better. Too much bread on the boiled seafood plate for my taste, and the filled shrimp was really dry and tasteless. The roasted potatoes were hard and also tasteless, and the broccoli was just broccoli with nothing. All in all a very boring meal in a really boring environment. Find a trend? On a positive note, the service was great and grateful, so the drinks were. If I'm urging our colleagues, I'll have to wait until I'm 80 again.
My Admirals platter was cook to perfection. My wife's fried haddock and whole clams where cook to her satisfaction. Our server was very professional/quick and earned her wage this Valentine's day. Non stop on her feet, very pleased with our service tonight.
