We had a plate of scampi chips with peas, plus a plate of chicken pie with chips peas. Complimented by a bottled beer we had found refuge from the storm. Thank you so much for the use of a table pleasant conversation. Will most definitely call again.
After being pretty awful for ages it changed hands a while back to the original owners, and it isn't bad now at all. It's true that the Nags isn't the cosiest, most aesthetically pleasing pub in the world, but it's friendly, there's a good choice of beer, (of which the cask ales are cellared really well), and the food is good quality, reasonably priced, generous, and really nice! All in all, much improved. Give it a go.
We had read reviews and were hoping to get a good meal. We were lucky to be able to sit in a quiet dining room, ordered quickly at the bar, sirloin steaks medium rare. Our drinks arrived in good time, served by a bubbly young lady. Our meals arrived in due course, presentation was spot on, and good portions. My steak was fine, my husband's was more rare than medium rare and had a considerable amount of gristle running through. Mushrooms were overcooked in a not very pleasant almost rancid fat. We had hoped for better. Sorry, we will not be going back.
Came for food on my own and to do some work. Great food, brilliant customer service. Lovely staff brilliant little country quiet pub
Please ignore the latest reviews, the so called obnoxious landlord is no longer and it is now under new management. SUBERB FOOD to eat in or takeaway. Yummy yum
