The restaurant itself is on the small side, so I would recommend booking a table if you plan on dining there. We were assigned to the studio apartment, which was a pleasant surprise. The apartment had its own kitchenette equipped with a hob, fridge, kettle, and combi oven, as well as an en-suite shower, table and chairs, and a comfortable bed. The breakfast items were provided in the fridge and included fresh orange juice, milk, ham, cheese, rolls, jam, and butter. The village is quite peaceful and there isn't much to do, though we did enjoy a walk to the nearby church. Overall, we had a lovely stay here. The only drawback was discovering a spider in the bed and the limited window ventilation in the room made it quite hot, even with the heater turned off.
4 of us went for lunch prior to doing a local walk. The pub was empty when we arrived at 12, but later filled up nicely. The food was excellent especially the hake which was cooked perfectly. My ham egg and chips was delicious and a huge portion. The desserts were also good. The pub was warm and the welcome from the staff and chef, even warmer! Prices reasonable. Difficult to find a single fault. Wish the Salford was in my village!!!
The room was really nice good sized bed . Breakfast was given in room and was a good choice of continental. There was a dirty dish with a cornflack left I. It which was rather off putting. We chose to eat in the Salford arms which started off really promisingly with various starters the star dish being the exquisite prawns. The main courses were flavourful and cooked very well. However 3 guests chose the cheese board, one cheeseboard was presented to the table with two pieces of cheese quite small which was very disappointing the description should have said duo of cheese. The dress ert was also disappointing and was like an individual ready made from a local supermarket. The staff were really loverly and attentive.
After driving around local areas in the past weeks we used here about 2 weeks ago just for a drink but got a lovey welcome from landlord,so today decided to give sunday roast ago, Well should'nt have bothered,1st impressions lady behind bar with apron on flustered didn't know what she was doing, then out of the kitchen comes this young lad with hat on back to front he certainly didn't look clean respectable!!(i should of cancelled my order then) we were ushered to sit in the window seat by the lady behind bar, when i sat down all i could smell was wet dirty dogs so i moved, lunch came out within 5 mins of ordering(never a good sign) plates cold food horrible£14 each for unedible beef, even though my husband plodded on ate both mine his, burnt edges raw middle YUK!! watery gravy cauliflower cheese watery too,we had been driving for hours looked forward to trying here, well we wont be back that's for sure not even for a drink as we feel totally ripped off by this place! Disgusting to charge that throw cold rubbish out,far better places locally to eat,so now we know why it's never busy!!
My partner and I visited the Salford Inn with another couple we had met in our prenatal classes for a nice catch-up while our sons played together. Unfortunately, our enjoyable afternoon took a turn for the worse when the bartender rudely suggested that if our babies continued to cry, we would have to take them outside. Despite the bar being nearly empty except for one other couple in a corner, and the fact that it was cold and windy outside, this request was completely inappropriate. The restaurant advertised itself as "child-friendly" but seemed to follow the outdated belief that children should be seen and not heard. Furthermore, we were disappointed to find that half of the items on the menu were not available.
