Picador Steak Charcoal - Whangaparaoa

We visited this restaurant for the first time on a Sunday night to try their special roast. The ambiance was pleasant, with background music at a perfect volume for conversation. Although there was a long wait for our food (around an hour), we understood that it was busy and we were the last table of the night. The bread starter was delicious and the main course was lovely, although the vegetables could have been cooked a little longer. The meal was great value and we plan to return. We also went back for steak night and enjoyed perfectly cooked steak that arrived quickly. On another visit, I had ribs and my wife had a burger, both of which were really good.

We had a wonderful Sunday roast dinner at Picador in Whangaporoa last night for only $20. It was located across from the new world. The meal was fantastic and I couldn't find anything wrong with the desserts. It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The vegetables were perfectly cooked, not too crunchy or too mushy. The pumpkin, kumara, and potatoes were soft and hot. The beef brisket was incredibly tender and just melted in your mouth.

We've been meaning to give Picador a try for a while now, we shouldn't have waited. We went for the $20 rump steak special and wow it was so good! The steak was cooked perfectly, the portions were generous and overall a 5/5 experience. I would definitely recommend Picador to anyone that finds themselves on the coast looking for a good feed! I'll be going back that's for sure.

We went for dinner with friends ,10 in total. Everyone enjoyed their meals right across the main meal menu. From steaks , lamb, burgers everyone was positive about the food and said they will be back. Very enjoyable.

Central location with good priced menu. Sampled their Beef rump steak available on selected days of the week for a bargain $20 cant get any better. Definitely recommend some of their other options too along with service with a smile.
