Permanently Closed - Whangarei

The staff at the Whangarei Gengys where friendly and helpful but the cooking surface didn't seem to have been cleaned as I had burned black pieces on my food....also...the black wall seating units need recovering or replacing where you sit as are badly ripped and not comfortable to sit on. Not intending to spend more good money there. Service: Dine in

Love Gengys. Staff are friendly. Food is good. Went last year to check it out. Then my family took me again for my birthday (only $1 for birthdays! . And I’ve come back again haha. Definitely beats doing a maccas run!

We went in for a birthday celebration at 7pm. Most of the hot food wasn’t topped up and didn’t get topped up the whole time we were there except the fried food, the sauces were extremely runny for the corn soup and the curried potatoes. The salad options are minimal and again sauces are runny. For the raw food a couple of the meats were empty and same as the veges. Again they didn’t get topped up at all. On the website it said it closes at 9 but at 8 we got told the grill is closing. The music playing was continuously interrupted with notifications (must off been a phone) Overall we won’t be back. For nearly $40 an adult it was extremely disappointing.
