The staff is always very friendly, attentive, and patient with my grandfather, who has trouble hearing. The location is small, with several smaller tables, but may not be able to accommodate large groups at once. The artwork in the restaurant is usually interesting to look at. The food is decent, but not worth the price for a regular night out. I have enjoyed most of the dishes I've tried, but they are nothing exceptional, just average. I will continue to visit because it is my grandfather's favorite place, but it may not be my first choice otherwise. It seems to cater more to older generations, as I am usually the youngest person in the room, aside from a few young children I have seen there.
We had an excellent Sunday night dinner at Tonic last night to celebrate our anniversary. The set menu was lovely and creative, with perfectly executed selections. We both opted for the delicious main beef dish, which was artfully arranged and balanced. The roast root veggies on the side were a great complement, and the Toffee crème brulée was a perfect ending to the meal. We highly recommend Tonic for a fine dining experience at great value. The attentive wait staff, Andrea and Lisa, added to our enjoyable evening. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add curtains to the front window for better temperature control and to filter out the traffic lights.
We had a wonderful 5-course tasting menu tonight. The food was impeccable and the staff truly exceeded our expectations. Thank you for a lovely evening without children.
**** Lovely! Wonderful menu a beautifully relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend Tonic
Anniversary dinner. The staff were attentive and remembered us from our last visit in August, and even moved us to a quieter table when one came available. The food was perfect, service excellent.
