True Texas Smokehouse

Poor, absolutely poor. Texas smokehouse used to be good up until recently, the meat was juicy and delicious beforehand but now it comes out almost stale, tasting like cardboard. The quality and sense of care seemed to have gone down the drain! Unfortunately it's not even a one off...! We've gone twice recently and both times been disappointed. When we asked for another plate, not even a refund we were denied. Jeff used to be nice but something changed. Save your money and visit Big Fattys in White River Jct!

You never know what you will get unless you stop. We saw Jeff bring in the food earlier in the day. Several hours later, as we were traveling South on Route 5 in Wilder (Hartford), VT, we noticed he was open. We just were talking about dinner, so we stopped in. Because we were staying in a hotel we were concerned our sandwiches would be soggy by the time we got there. Jeff kindly offered to containerize the meat separately for us so we could get to the hotel to eat. Appreciated the extra mile and boy it was worth the wait. Food was perfectly done and the service was exceptional. I don't normally stop on the side of the road at a food truck type set up, but I would stop here again anytime.

Can not go wrong true Texas barbecue pulled pork sandwich out of this world. Juicy and well seasoned meat and just the right amount of sauce

This place is a godsend to the upper valley. Jeff takes smoking meats very seriously and does it right. I got two large containers of the smoked chicken and pork and they were probably the best smoked meats I've ever had. So much flavor!!! Little salty to eat by itself but prob perfect on a bun. Containers look small but it's packed with soooo much meat I made almost three meals out of it with three people. Highly recommend. Keep this olace going y'all.
