The Beacon - Whitley Bay

I tried the cajun chips, which were delightful, and just the right amount—not too spicy. I appreciated how the dish didn't overpower my palate and allowed me to savor my meal without any issues later on. This was my second visit, and I would highly recommend it. The staff was friendly, especially the lady at the bar who assisted us on October 24th. They even had great facilities for my visually impaired father, which was a huge plus. I also enjoyed the music playing within the restaurant, which made the ambiance even more enjoyable during our visit. A big thank you to the team for a fantastic experience!

Around 8:45 PM, we were politely reminded of the 9 PM policy regarding under-18s. We hadn’t realized how late it had gotten! However, the bartender was very discreet and gave us plenty of “warning.” The app they use is a fantastic idea, and I really appreciated receiving a complimentary bottle of Prosecco for my birthday! Overall, it was a wonderful evening spent with my loved ones in what has become one of my favorite spots in the area. Thank you!

This is my favorite local pub/restaurant. I always feel welcome and at ease, even when I'm on my own. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they offer a varied menu that caters well to vegetarians like me. I also take a group of seniors there for Christmas dinner, and I can confidently say the food was delicious and the staff was exceptionally pleasant, despite being very busy. It's definitely worth a visit!

Great food, great prices and a great atmosphere. also the staff was very helpful. I would just like to thank the staff in the beacon for helping to make my mam and papas ruby jubilee meal. we will definitely come back!

Yesterday was the second time I have visited and again was not disappointed. Being about 2pm the place was not too busy so we got a table straight away. The service was very good and my beef rib was beautifully cooked. The staff were friendly and came to check half way through if everything was ok. We were thanked for our service when the plates were collected and when we left. I was here on first date and glad to say it went well too so thank you ha ha x
