I normally order just chips, struggle through something overwhelming, or just don’t eat when going out. But I saw they had a flatbread topped with other stuff I like. I asked if I could possibly have all the toppings off to the side (didn’t even have to tell them I’m autistic) and they went one further and put each topping into its own little bowl for me. It meant so much to me, and was so kind. The waiter we had was being trained on what was clearly his first day (his shirt even had lines from being folded up in the packet, he was THAT new) and the lady training him said she’d ask the kitchen for me. He got to see them do something that was seemingly not a big deal, but had a massive impact for me. We love it there and will be back again for sure! Thank you to the staff, it was wonderful! It’s also an incredibly beautiful pub, and has great wheelchair access too! I work as a disability access consultant and I was very impressed with their access and attitude in general with disability!
Fantastic food and really nice staff. Taking Covid measures seriously but not in an intimidating way. Lots of outside seating both out the front and rear meaning that staying in the sun is possible. Multiple lunch menus available and very reasonably priced. Food came in a reasonable time frame and was cooked very well. Will definitely be making a return trip.
Came in with my family this afternoon for lunch, had the steak and ale pie which was absolutely amazing, the staff were friendly and the service was outstanding.
Went for lunch a couple of weeks ago. Pub quiet, service very slow, children's food ordered did not come out as the menu stated. Put number plate into their system and have just received a parking fine. Can't understand why this carpark needs to be run by a private company. Not impressed as my visit last year was lovely
Big pub in the country with indoor and outdoor space. Has that country pub feel about it. Menu is straight out the Chef and Brewer playbook with a good selection of classics and modern with veggie and vegan options. We had the No leaf salad with halloumi which was inventive and very tasty but not especially large which left space for dessert. A good Bakewell tart with custard and a rocking chocolate and Cornish ice cream Sunday with brownie definitely filled the gaps. About £25 each for 2 courses and a drink (May2023). Car park is large but remember you have to check the vehicle registration inside. Also if Google tells you to take the southern entrance don’t as you get your car scratched as they haven’t cut the foliage back, take the other entrance which is much wider.
