Dexter’s Of Windermere

I heard Dexters is closed. If you had been planning to go there, make sure to call first to check if it has reopened.

My experience at Dexter's is no longer enjoyable. The staff isn't engaging, and the food is nowhere near the quality it was four months ago before the sale. If you sort the reviews by newest first, you'll see we all want the old Dexter's back. I sat at the bar and the server was slow to attend to us, even though there were only four customers there. I've brought the negative reviews to the manager's attention, but she seems indifferent. The new owners have a restaurant in Champion's Gate that gets similar poor reviews. Are they ruining our local spot too?

I have always loved the Dexter's in Thornton Park, Orlando so expected a similar experience here. Went for lunch one week day a couple weeks ago. Not only was the service mediocre at best, the food was disappointing. For drinks we asked for an unsweet tea and a water. The server then asked me if we ordered a coke and water, after corrected her, they brought out a sweat tea and water. Still wrong. For food we ordered the Dexter's special and the loaded tots. The tots were just spoke of tater tots will some melted cheese, they didn't but the bacon on it and for $13 that is a total rip off. These were like tots out of the freezer section with a sprinkle of cheese. The Dexter's special sandwich was pretty good, but overall a very dissatisfying experience.

This place used to be a great mix of many different menu options, but they changed their menu entirely, pulling my favorite items. This wasn't my first time there and I had really liked it but this time was just okay. When we arrived there was only one table of people in the entire restaurant, and there were no hosts or waiters to be seen. We waited at the front for over five minutes without anyone coming to the front and right when we were about to leave we were seated. With the menu change, I was really disappointed and would've left if it weren't for the $1 burgers on Tuesdays option. In addition to the burger, I got the fish sliders. The fish sliders were absolutely amazing and worth visiting just for the appetizer alone. The burger was just okay but for $1, you can't expect too much. Our waiter was very nice and accommodating considering it was his first week on the job. It's a good spot if you're looking for a cheap sit down dinner but not much else. The fish sliders were amazing though and I can taste them just thinking about them!
