A bold statement but they are good, big chunks of fish, nicely battered and fried to a nice crispy crunch. Big portions and prompt service. They open at noon and offer a good variety of fish, shrimp and seafood meals as well as some chicken dishes and salads. Prices are very reasonable and good value.
Great spot we found right after boat tour and a quick stop at Witless Bay Beach recommended by a local we talked to. Ask about specials we overhead someone mention fresh mussels that were not on the menu they were amazing! Fish and chips and cod bites were great too! One of the few rural seafood places we found without batter on scallops and shrimp , which we appreciated. The cod on the Captain's plate were not battered deep fried either though and we found not quite as good as the deep fried cod. Overall enjoyed and would eat here again!
My wife and I stopped here while driving along the coast to spot iceburgs. Service (Melissa) was fast and incredibly friendly, even though the place was packed. We both had fish and chips, a soft drink, and split a desert (sticky toffee pudding). The food was hot, fresh, and tasty. Total cost with tax (before tip) was $46. A great spot to stop if you're in the area.
The service was slow in the beginning, but the servers were friendly. However, when our food finally arrived, my fish was severely undercooked. I would not return to this restaurant.
Our experience at this restaurant was disappointing from the start. The outdoor tables were in need of repair, and the waitress was overly intrusive, making us feel uncomfortable. The service was extremely slow, and all the food we ordered was terrible. The mussels were flavorless and cold, and the fish and chips were soggy. We were advised to try this place, but regretted it immediately.
