The restaurant was packed and there was a good buzz in the room. It wasn't too noisy though so ticked all the boxes in terms of atmosphere. <br/ <br/ Each course was delicious, and artfully presented on the plate. There weren't any courses that I didn't enjoy. The food was inventive without being too crazy or unappealing. We've done a lot of degustations in our time (mostly in Sydney) and this experience was a very good one. At times, I felt the delivery of the courses could have been sped up a bit especially given the kitchen has a good idea of what everyone will be eating given it's a set menu. <br/ <br/ Service was friendly, down to earth and knowledgeable. My only criticism of the service was that I had to ask for my water glass to be filled up numerous times throughout the evening. Usually at a restaurant of this standard, this would just occur and you wouldn't have to ask. <br/ <br/ My husband had the matching wines (premium option). He wasn't so fussed on the selection as he felt that some of the choices were trying to be too unusual. <br/ <br/ At the end of the meal, the chef came out to chat to us. He obviously has a passion for his business and the produce he sources and we thought this interaction was a nice touch. <br/ <br/ Overall, a great experience. If you are looking for a special occasion restaurant in Wollongong, this is the place to come.
Went here with my wife and 6 months old son for our family weekend retreat from Sydney. Since we did not go out very much we managed to take some of the courses picture but not all of them, missed the best dish which was the duck (in my opinion). The food is very unique and represent Australia in a way, as a chef pursuing morden cuisines, i love the thoughts and creativity behind every dish at this place. The ambiance was nice and cozy but our son might had stirred it up a bit though i had a lavender tea which was very good, fragrant acted as a palate cleansing almost after every course. Service staff were very helpful and friendly. However, it still feels like there's something missing for the 5th star... i'll be back again soon for another experience!
Had the degustation menu, and I cannot find a single fault with anything. The food was absolutely incredible, and the service was understated, friendly, polite and professional. You cannot ask for more in a restaurant and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Finest dinning in Wollongong. Good for special occasions. There is a reason this has been awarded Good Food Guide hats for many years. Most local restaurant don't come close.
Food is probably the best in Wollongong. 5 of the 7 course degustation menu were excellent, 2 course missed completely. Tooth fish was so over cooked, almost inedible and pork was over cooked, tough and dry. Service was probably the worst I have encountered in Wollongong. Inexperienced children with no personality at all reciting their script by rote. One of them even said to me when I requested they not read their wine script, I need to sound pompous and like I know what I am talking about! It doesn't work at all.
