Unfortunately, they were covered with a piece of cheese that was melted in the rosti to leave a dirty cheese flavor, completely overwhelming the kartoffel. wilted spinat sat on the top of the cheese slices and two poached eggs sat on it. the eggs were cooked nicely. Together they look very nice, eat a big farewell. we will not visit again, as there are some other better possibilities in the opposite.
I have been dining at Riverside for many years and can honestly say that I only have good things to say about this restaurant. Suzie helped make my birthday special by setting a table among the trees. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meals, which were served promptly. The service was excellent. I have always recommended this restaurant to many of my friends and will continue to do so. It brings me so much joy to have such a beautiful dining spot near the river.
Make sure to book a table in advance for lunch as this restaurant closes at 4pm. Upon arrival, we had to wait to be seated and then had to find a table that was cleaned. We were informed that the kitchen closes at 2pm and we could only order cake and coffee. The cakes were disappointing for the price, not homemade. The apple rhubarb cake looked the same every time. Despite the restaurant not being busy, we had to wait 40 minutes for our order. The staff seemed disorganized. I would not return to this place.
I am disappointed to say that this is my first negative review. I was very disappointed with my meal. I found the prawns in my Prawn cocktail to be lacking in flavor. I politely asked the server to check with the chef. She returned and repeated, "The chef said they were cooked!" Naturally, I chose not to eat them. No alternative options were offered to me. When I went to pay at the end of the meal, someone from the kitchen came over and I overheard them say, "The prawns were COOKED!"
I booked a table for 2 for lunch on Dec 31st way back in October and received confirmation. When we arrived today we found that the restaurant was, in fact, CLOSED. I had no notifications of this and one of the diners traveled from Fremantle....The only saving grace was that it enabled us to find a very nice restaurant in The Swan Valley who could accomodate us at short notice. This is no way to treat customers and we won't be taking that chance again. Thank fully, where we did go was great and we WILL return there in the future.
