Number 1 Chinese - Woodside

I was born and raised in Woodside, and this restaurant has been a part of my life since childhood, just as it has been for my family. My parents and I have been ordering from here since they first opened, especially since we used to live right next door. Even though I now live a bit farther away, I still choose this place for Chinese food every single time. In my opinion, it’s the best Chinese food in NYC. I admit I’m biased because of the nostalgia, but having visited countless other Chinese restaurants, I can confidently say that nothing compares to this one. The food is outstanding, and the owners and staff are incredibly kind; they truly feel like family to me.

I ordered the shrimp with broccoli, pork fried rice, and egg drop soup from the lunch special for just $8. The food was delicious, well-presented, and served quickly. I definitely plan to return to try more items from the menu.

I called to address the issue, and the staff were quite rude. They insisted I had requested fewer onions, but even if that were true, there were more onions than chicken in the dish. The employee was determined to assert that she was right and showed no remorse for the mistake. This has been the worst experience at a Chinese restaurant I have ever had! I do not recommend this place due to the rude staff and their lack of understanding towards customer preferences. It’s hard to believe they can run a business this way.
