For our appetizer, we ordered calamari, which was a delightful twist on the usual. The tender fried rings and tentacles were enhanced by the addition of sliced banana peppers, garlic, and baby spinach. The accompanying red sauce was delicious, and I’m confident it was homemade. While sipping her glass of Montepulciano, my sister devoured her hearty plate of ravioli, topped with the same flavorful red sauce, along with a meatball and sausage. The ravioli was very good, and the meatball had a great texture and tasted great, but the sausage was the star—it was fresh and delicious. Both of us appreciate the “basics” of Italian-American cuisine and often evaluate restaurants based on these staples. For my entrée, I ordered the Veal Neapolitan, and it was everything I hoped it would be. I savored the tender sautéed veal cutlets, which were topped with a rich mix of Portobello mushrooms, eggplant, and red peppers, all covered with gooey melted mozzarella and served in a velvety but light sauce—a perfect combination of flavors. After deciding to take half of my dish home for a lavish lunch later, my sister and I shared a heavenly slice of “Mochamisu,” which was essentially a traditional tiramisu. My sister also treated herself to a cup of espresso. Our server for the evening was Nicole, the owners’ daughter, and she was personable and happy to answer all our questions. The pacing of our dining experience was just right—not too fast but not slow either. Well done, Chioda’s! We will definitely be back, as we have found our new Italian home.
This place is undoubtedly a hidden gem in a city bustling with fantastic dining options. They serve classic, authentic Italian-American cuisine made fresh to order. The staff is friendly and well-informed, and the food is crafted with expertise and care. I can't express enough how much I appreciate this hidden gem.
Wow! The food was absolutely delicious, and our server was fantastic. The dishes were incredible, and we will definitely be making this our go-to restaurant from now on! I can't wait to return and try more of the menu. There were four of us, and we all took home nearly half of our meals because the portions were astonishing for the price! We've passed by this place countless times without stopping, and we must have been out of our minds. Now, we won’t be able to drive by without stopping—this is a must-visit spot!
Real, honest Italian cuisine is in severe shortage in Worcester. Since we had left Waltham 8 years ago we had yet to find an Italian restaurant to satisfy our palates. Chiodas Trattoria came closer than any restaurant to do just that. From the outside the building is unassuming...almost hole-in-the-wall. Upon entering, the atmosphere was transformative...such a welcoming, authentic ambiance. The service was quick, genuine, and familial...as if being served by old friends. The food was homestyle, personal, and simply delicious....not over the top...just right. The desserts were tasty however there was a bit of flavour crossover from another like dessert that, while not completely off-putting, was a slight low point. The cappuccino at the end was magnificent...truly one of the best cappuccinos we had ever experienced. Overall, the culinary experience was one that we long to savour again and again. Thank you, Chiodas, for a memorable evening!
This restaurant is fantastic! The food is the best Italian food I've had. The atmosphere is beautiful and the service is outstanding! The only thing bad for me is we only get to eat here when we come to visit our kids. I highly recommend this restaurant.
