We arrived a little early for our reservation 7:30 and ended sitting at the bar and eating there. After we get drinks and order our food, we waited about 45 minutes at what time I asked when we could expect our salad. The bartender apologized and said they were overwhelmed. I have no idea what this has to do with a delay in eating because we're already sitting. I guess he never put him in the grocery job because he was busy and the place was full. He was the only bartender for the whole bar and tilted the service bar and for those who sit at the bar. It took an hour to get our meals and while eating was very good, I wouldn't go through this experience again. Maybe it would have been better if we were at a table and had a waitress.
Service was terrible. We had a reservation for 6 people at 7:00. Checked in at 6:55 and were told it would be about 10 minutes and we should wait in the bar. 20 minutes passed and a party of 8 comes in and were seated right away ahead of us. I think the hostess forgot we were there honestly. She was rude and unapologetic as she told us it would be about 25 minutes. We were finally seated around 7:50 after complaining to the manager—only to be ignored because the waiter apparently was covering all the tables at this point in the night. 2nd time here. Similar experience getting ignored the first time I went but figured I’d give them another shot because the food was good, everyone has an off night. But never again. Terrible service.
Have not been to the restaurant since moving to the new location almost next door. Love the new space and that the food quality and value are still as high as they ever were if not better.
First time trying Meze. We will be back. Food was great, wine list was extensive and reasonably priced, service was good. Only issue, which there isn’t much they can do about it, is how crammed the tables were. Maybe someday they will expand a bit if they remain as busy as they have been.
