Homemade pork beans, dumplings, chili ridges, pickled wooden mushrooms, all their hot pot and plastered pepper dishes, and special variety dishes are our goal, but they have good quality American Chinese dishes if you are more in that. Fast friendly service. It's a pleasure to take our family here.
I’m writing this review as I am devouring these dishes. This place is legit!!!! 100% recommend. Nice staff and quick service!
Oh my god do they fry food well. Favorites include the fried tofu and intestines. Very generous with peppercorns and peppers. Incredible crunch with every bite, so crispy. Well seasoned, spiced without being too spicy. A little salty for some maybe.
The skinny: One of the best authentic sichuan places you can find in the Boston area. Overall was very impressed by this spot it sits unassumingly in Worcester away from the hustle and bustle of Boston or Chinatown. But if you're ever in the area and craving chinese food I'd recommend you come here. We ordered a few dishes to share: Dry Braised Pork Intestine w Spicy Sauce in Hot Pot, cumin lamb, tendons in chili, wontons spicy and the sliced fish tofu with spicy sichuan pepper. The favorites were the fish and the tendons perfect mala spice just enough to taste the different flavors without overpowering the dish. Would definitely recommend these. Everything else was absolutely delicious as well. Cumin lamb had a great spice balance and came in a large portion. Wontons spicy were the only item that I was not super impressed by solid but was flavors were bland compared to our other dishes and a little less juicy than I would have liked. Would I come back: Yes this will be my go to place for authentic sichuan food when I'm in the area.
Highly recommend Red Pepper especially for good Sichuan food, this is a step up above your typical American Chinese fast food restaurant. One of my favorite restaurants in Worcester and go at least every other month. If you like spice this is the place. I would reserve to get any fried dish like their amazing L01 Deep fried chicken for dine in only as they do loose their crisp if doing takeout. Some of my favorite dishes so far: L7 Cumin lamb, L1 fried chicken, E7 shredded beef, J14 Hot beef noodle soup L14 mala pot (lots of seafood and good for several people) Their spicy wontons are also incredible and quite spicy.
