We sampled the chorizo salad, beef salad and some cevapi and they were just delicious. If we lived in Auckland, we would be regular customers.
Really enjoyed the Serbian cevapi meatballs. Came with chips, bread and a capsicum dip. Delicious! The area itself, Victoria Park Market is so dead you feel like you’re walking through a morgue but Salash will prolly outlast any other cafe in the area.
If you're a meat freak like me, then this is the place to go to. They're very innovative with the food they make, which pretty much convinced me to buy their Beef Burger. That juice from the patty though, so good once you taste and the vegetables in the burger are nice and fresh as well. It's money well spent, I gotta say.<br/ <br/ The service here was alright, really nice and friendly when I was making my order. The waiting time was alright as well, I guess the good food take longer to cook.<br/ <br/ Just looking from the outside, it looks like those upper class cafes only to realise that it's a Delicatessan shop. It also has that classic homemade feel, probably because their kitchen is pretty much in the open to see when the meats are cooked. Which I think is pretty cool, it's totally worth coming back.
I had to stop by here after I saw them advertise their stuffed burger on instagram. The stuffed burger was a patty made from beef, pork and lamb stuffed with cheese and dried meats.I loved it. I loved the patty, the bun, the sauce. Couldn't fault it. I will definitely be back to try some of their other menu items. They also probably have the best salami that I have had in NZ. So if you are a cured meats lover then you definitely have to pop in. They also have a stand at La Cigale on the weekends selling their cured meats.
The Chorizo burger is honestly one of the best things I have ever eaten, it almost needs its own cult following. The dried meats on hand are great if you want something to snack on whilst waiting for your chorizo burger to be made.
