Just moved to the area from the Olympia area and we are still gaining our bearings on what to eat in our new city. Gyro House is officially top of the list. I’m not going to lie, I was apprehensive when we walked in because the space leaves little to be desired. It’s a pretty stark space with little to look at and it felt a little cold. BUT THE FOOD IS WHAT COUNTS and the food is PHENOMENAL. And just when you think that the food is the shining star, you get helped by some of the kindest people on this planet. Homie at the counter was more than happy to make substitutions and held a really nice conversation with us that really made my husband and I feel valued. 11/10 food and service, 4/10 atmosphere. I have driven through here for years, and until today, 10-26-2023, I had never actually set foot inside this restaurant, and good thing that I did. The food was delicious, the shawarma was prepared fast and the combination of perfectly seasoned, juicy lamb, flatbread, and vegetables was finger licking good. The fries were wonderful as well. The staff member who took care of me was friendly, and was patient as he went over the menu with me and allowed me the time to choose. He gets extra points because he made my little boy giggle. Overall this is a wonderful place to eat, the food was warm, juicy, and delicious, the establishment was clean, and the staff member working was friendly, respectful, and professional through and through. The only downside I saw was that the bathroom could have been a little cleaner. The toilet was stuffed full of toilet paper, but worked well otherwise. To me, this took nothing away from the tastiness of my experience in this business. Kid-friendliness: The staff member was very friendly towards my five-month old baby, and I greatly appreciated that. To me, that showed genuine family-friendliness.
