Front desk staff was great! Judy in the bar/restaurant went above and beyond! Only hotel I stay at when I travel for work to Yakima.Rooms: 5/5
One of the nicer places to stay in Yakima. Employerea are friendly and helpful.Rooms are clean. On-site restaurant bar is decent.Nearby activities: Lots of stores and restaurants near by, and the Ymca is next door.Walkability: Lots of great restaurants near by.Food drinks: The in hotel bar is nice. Unfortunately the restaurant ran out of the French onion soup when I tried to order it, so it must be good!
I didn't have a good stay for two reasons. 1) They informed me upon checking in that they would charge me $10 a day for parking. The Hilton is one of the more expensive lodging options in Yakima and so this felt like nickel and diming. So I informed the young man checking me in that I would park on the street for the two nights I was staying there, which he acknowledged. The next day, after reading some of the more negative reviews of this place, I checked at the front desk to make sure they weren't charging me for the parking. And they were!!! I asked the front desk lady to please take those charges off since I was parking on the street. They did. 2) It's noisy. It's really noisy. The floors are thin. There are five floors of lodging. I was on the 4th floor. I could hear EVER SINGLE FOOTSTEP my upstairs neighbor took, including in the middle of the night. Same went for traffic noise and my neighbors on the same floor. On the whole I expect more from a Hilton experience. It didn't deliver.
Last minute place we booked.. lol it was very beautiful and clean from the outside, because it was after hours all doors were locked, which I liked because now a days you never know. Quick check in very friendly, had a hiccup but he fixed it fast and I say it took less than 10 min to check me in. Very clean inside as well. They have a little store you can buy snacks, beer, soups, etc. The one issue I did have was the parking, it was in a secured garage (which i loved), you needed your room key to access it. But super small, if you drive a truck your looking at taking two spots. Very narrow, just odd. Other than that.. the elevator didn't smell lol, the room was pretty big, spacious two queens. Clean and smelled good.. I think you can tell by the smells what kind of hotel you're in. Lol maybe it's just me. If it smells bad, the room... ill ask for another or just find another one. I'm not a picky person, or a complainer, I'm sure you know what smells shouldn't be in your room. We did go swimming, one thing is a little kid was eating a muffin in the hot tub.. when he saw us he dropped half of it in the hot tub?and ran out. It was very clean other than that. It course, check out was fast. Yes, I'll definitely stay there again.
